After my hol next month I am getting some new screeding tools. Have spoke to a few people and have a few ideas.
So what do you use and why you use it?

I use laybond plastic buckets but am switching to the yellow gorilla ones
Have a big screeding trowel but not sure on make
I need a new drill an was looking at one from machine mart for a £100
I use cheap paint rollers for priming and dpm
And am getting the pin leveller, thanks sandy.

Any photos would be good guys.

I use fball buckets, fball spiked roller and I think its a 15" trowel and a little midget trowl for getting round toilets tight spots. I use to use those tuff tubs but the whisk I use seems to cut them

Well me answer is expensive but i promise you will pay for itself.

I use the Itools screeding system.

You can get upto 4 mixes in it. Th buckets last also, mine must be 4-5 years old not and still going strong, even using them on training courses so took some abuse.

I would but a collomix drill from Jancer. Yep they are a few hundred quid but again mine must be 10 years+ old now. This drill was mixing 50 bags of screed every day for 2 years (big contract i was doing) It will also mix 3 bags of screed straight off in one go. Im talking dump 3 bags of powder in a bucket and water and turn it on! Hardcore.

Also there wisk is the best, it is crap on one bag only as the screed ends up on the ceiling. But chuck 2 bags plus in a bucket and it will mix them in seconds .

As for paint rollers. B&Q there £1.

That Itools mixing station is the best I have recently invested in one and it makes mixing screed so much easier got mine from havwoods it is pricie but well worth it, I also invested in their stand up screeding trowel that to is awsome to put it simple terms it puts exactly 3mm of screed down in every application which is the recommended ammout with no trowel lines no overlap lines pricie again but put it like this I screeded 220m2 with it in less than 1 hour so a worth wile investment, the next night the screed was like a slab of glass. Havwoods sell the Itools gear check out their website I also ivested in their Berg 110v mixing drill again pricie but very good twin speed forward and reverse and has a slow start which can be gradually increased so your screed don't end up all over the walls, the speed is controled by a simple dial like the volume on your stereo, which in my opinion the Berg drill works very well with the Itools mixing station as you can start slow and increase as you add more powder.
The only down side of this gear is keeping it all clean it cost alot of money, so I have an ardex mixing bucket filled with water to dump the drill after each use keeping it clean and I clean up the trowel by just dunking it and brushing it off then when I'm finished with the mixing station I tip some of the water into there and brush it out.

I do its a bit strange at first and takes a bit of getting use to, I purchased the 430mm one and thought start small and work up once I was used to it. In the first use at 10pm on a sunday night at chelsea & westminister hospital I screeded 230m2 in under an hour if you include time cleaning itools mixing station and trowel 1 hour. Could anyone do that on ya knees I think not.

No Daz its the ITools one the best in my opinion. As it has a unique swivel joint that behaves exactly like your wrist so it makes standing up to screed much easier than the fixed versions.
