Most of the floor pops when you walk on it. One of the joins pulled apart so I went back took skirt off, pva and knocked back together. 2 weeks later one of the end joins completely went in the door way and had to pull up and re fix. The sub floor is a 5 year old screed and flatter than most

When you say subfloor is good, is it within guidelines?

Not trying to pick a issue here mate, but if the subfloor is worse than what is in the guidelines then cant moan at the product. We should moan at the builder.

What we can do is use the power of the forum to show your customers why the builders subfloor is no good and what happens if a product is fitted on it .

Maybe, just maybe, one day we will have subfloors that we can lay on rather than spending days fixing builders crap workmanship.

;) Well its not a billiard table but in all honesty Ive never seen a floor that is. I can tell you for sure if it was quickstep or engineered wood it would be fine. I hear what your saying, I wouldnt complain to the manufacturer over it. I spent 2 days putting it right for nothing but I wont be touching the stuff again simply because its too fragile in my opinion

I have to agree, also there is alot of packs that the adhesive from the box has leaked through into the grooves. Pain in the bum having to clean all the grooves. Dont get me wrong pergo is a good product, maybe just a few bad batches.

So are we saying that on a subfloor within BS the product will be fine? Its just pushing the product passed what is recommended there is issues ?

If so its unfair to moan about

Also the edges are very frail and chip too easily. I didnt notice any dips in the floor or high spots. But I didnt go over the whole floor with a level so I couldnt say for definate. There was a existing laminate floor down already that was perfect apart from being a hidious colour so I presumed the floor would be ok. All im saying is in my opinion it doesnt come any where near the quality of quickstep.

I gotta say that job was done nearly a year ago and since then I dont take any screed to be flat. None of them are and you cant level them with a 3mm screed either. Most of them need grinding and at least 6mm I find. Problem is getting Joe public to fork out for that work.

Tell me about it, I have customers telling me thier floor is perfectly flat and it doesnt need levelling when we are looking at the room and its covered with carpet and underlay  Let alone when there is a hard floor down that seems perfecly good. Things like this forum and doing training does give you more confidence to say to them this is how it needs to be or its not going to be perfect or even worse it will fail

We have a FAQ thread on here now so you can show your customers. Let me know what extra info you want me to go into. Also we will soon be converting the forum over to a 'APP' for iphones and Ipads. you will soon be able to show your customers on site the facts etc

Good stuff, definetly the best laminate for people to learn and train with. Some of the products ive fitted over the years would put them off fitting laminate forever.
