Hi all, so I ordered first impressions along with paying extra for caviar and Crystal 9mm

carpet fitting company come today and I found out that they used cirrus 9mm and not what I paid for!

he said it’s a big job taking it up and as it’s a rental
Properly he will refund the difference if I keep the cirrus.

I know it’s not what I paid for but if the cirrus is still ok then I’ll save the hassle. Altho I wanted caviar as it’s a rental property and want to prolong the life of the carpet with the denser better underlay!

also. Is it normal for it to look abit thread bare where it goes over the stairs.

Last point, does the door bar look abit narrow and not up high enough?

You put that in a rental?
I would have put a cheap twist and cost 8mm :D

With the carpet being quite thick I usually cut a piece of 6mm ply and put it under the door strip to raise it and make it look a better fit, each to their own though...

Door bars look fine, some pack them out to raise them for deep pile carpet, some don’t. By thread bare do you mean were the pile has separated slightly over the stairs?

Again thick carpet going over the nosing can look as if it’s thread bare but perfectly normal, if you rub it am sure your can hide it and make it appear in other places. Think of a small circle circumference has a smaller distance to cover than a larger one, just like the carpet going over a bend, carpet backing being the small circle and end of the pile being a bigger one

    Thanks!

maybe I should have gone for heartlands rather than first impression!

Cirrus will be fine. It’s probably the same stuff with a different paper top on it
