Hi there, I have just joined the forum!
I am in search for advice. I am in the middle of several minor renovations in a 3 bedroom Victorian house. I would like to laminate the floor of one of the bedrooms, which will become my daughter's room. The room at the moment has an old wooden floor, with several holes and old boards. As I need to make the room as baby safe as possible I was planning to laminate on the top of the wooden floor. My problem is that the room is directly above the main entrance and the hallway, and the floor has sunk slightly on either side of the hallway wall, which runs directly under the room. So overall the floor is slightly tented and not on level. If possible I would like a quick fix that doesn't require lifting the current floor or using a self levelling compound, as I would be a bit concerned about adding too much extra weight to the floor. Is there any material that I can use to compensate for the unlevelled floor or can I double up on the underlay where the floor is lower? Many thanks in advance!

Probably not what you would want to hear, but I would get it inspected properly before you add weight to it.
