    Booked a sand and finish couse with the bwfa. Anybody done a course with them? are they good, and good value?

    16 & 17 August /13 & 14 Sept & Oct tba
    2 Day wood Installation course: Code BWFA 01

    Training in all aspects of hardwood flooring including:

    • Properties and characteristics of wood and product manufacture.
    • Subfloors-testing and preparation
    • Installation of engineered flooring
    • Installation of solid wood flooring-nailed, glue and batten systems.
    • Maintenance and after care.

    Suitable for both experienced installers and installers with less knowledge.

    The course combines theory with hands-on practice and is the most comprehensive course of its type offered today. (Work wear is essential throughout the course)

    Maximum of 8 delegates can be accommodated.
    The course runs from 9.30am on day 1 to approximately 4.30pm on day 2.
    A list of B+B will be sent for you to book for any overnight stay required.
    The course will include in the fees lunch and certificates.

    Cost of course: £175.00 for 2 day course. For members / Non Members £225.00

    The sand & finish course will take you through the complete process of sand & finish. You will have practical use of machines use of edger’s and how to set up for individual preference. Staining & bleaching technique including ageing of flooring. Complete trouble shooting practical and theory on how to remove imperfections.

    Suitable for both experienced installers and installers with less knowledge.

    The course combines theory with hands-on practice and is the most comprehensive course of its type offered today. (Work wear is essential throughout the course)

    5 Day advanced course

    To attend this 5 day course you must have attended the 2 other courses as above. This course will be of advanced technical & practical skills.

    Course contents.

    • Introduction & overview of the programme.
    • How to create a starburst and install.
    • How to create jig set up.
    • Mixed media basketweave with other products including stone.
    • Bench scraping-pillowed edges, dishout with grain, knots.
    • Hand scraping.
    • Custom make parquetry and installation
    • How to create a curved border.
    • How to bend wood.
    • Wood grid installation.
    • Sanding different mixed species.
    • Use of advanced staining & ageing process.
    • Advanced router work.



    • How to make your own trims.


    This course will show you installations you could only dream of. You will leave this advanced course having gained advanced technical and installation skills helping you to create a unique niche in the working environment enabling you to price for work none of your competitors are capable of or know of.

    Cost of this advanced course £500 (Members only). Only 4 people per course for advanced work.

    All courses are subject to VAT at current rate.

    I think there is space mate. You will have to phone the BWFA tho and book. I dont deal with any bookings for them.
