Yep same here I was always told 80/20 would last longer than 100% wool. Even better would be an 80/10/10 mix with what they call "melt bond" so...
I'm with Jambo, Mapei Renovation Screed will go over most things, sticks like **** and is very flexible.... As long as you get any loose residue...
