I have a job in Kensington. The residents want stripes as everyone else is doing it, and I've got them lots of samples but they are not sure if 100% wool will be good enough. They have selected Lakeland Hedrick which is 3 ply, decent weight and decent price for quality but has anyone got any ideas. IM thinking brintons stripes in pure living range as its 80/20 wool nylon. Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks for the replies. I have orient and it does look nice but not sure if hard wearing enough for common parts to 6 flats and its quite cheap, if you compare it to lake land Hedrick, this is kensington, they can spend a fair bit. The other sample they had was telenzo mainline. My concern is they keep asking if the 100% wool carpet will, out last a good quality 80/20. What are your opinions on this. I was always led to believe 80/20 wool with nylon was the best combination.
Yep same here I was always told 80/20 would last longer than 100% wool. Even better would be an 80/10/10 mix with what they call "melt bond" so instead of the two different fibres just being woven together, they are melted together using 10% polyprop. Think Kingsmead Artwork is 80/10/10 or 80/15/5...
You looked at Candy stripe,I've used that a few times.it comes 70cm wide, just silver seam it off site before installation, nice hard wearing Wilton but expensive.....but then it is Kensington
Have you tried brockways they do a few stripes I think jubilee stripe is 80/10/10 but if you've seen Lakeland herd wick you have prob seen it
Thanks all. I have from brockway, jubilee, solar, Lakeland, vogue, all nice carpets. I like brockway. @kevin. I haven't seen the candy stripe. What sort of figures, if we can discuss. @Merit, Lakeland is 3 ply, 100% wool, decent weight, but will that outlast an 80/20 wool/ nylon mix?
