    Hi Lads

Heres a question for you all cause i would like to see youre opinion on this......

100m2 of 40 year old teak wood mosiac panels, they are sitting very flat with noe visible signs of blowing.
They have been stuck with the old bitumen adhesive and on close inspection the adhesive bond has broken from the
panes on 40% of the total area causing a hollow sound although as i said they are laying flat.
    I have two questions:

    1. When they are sanded what is the likelihood of them vibrating the rest off the adhesive?
    2. Will the sanding process and the applying of a waterbased seal cause them to expand and blow completley?

I look forward to tour comments

    I have done this before.
    1, 50/50 but doubt it
    2, no

What will you be using to sand them and what's your choice in the seal and process of it???

Could be a pain mate, if they arnt stuck down with no tongue and groove the sander will start pinging them up. If large sections come up your into sorting it out

    Restick the loose ones first?

I presume they just sound hollow and not that you can lift them off the floor??

Hi Thanks for that, i thought that too.
We use a hummel lagler and will be applying Junckers hp sport 3 coats.

Yea they arnt lifting but just sound hollow. My worry is that like merit says that they will all pop off the floor.
I have given them written advice that they may do this and will have to pay for any repair work, the trouble is, they want me to put in a ballpark figure to repair them if this does take place.
I thought about sticking the loose ones first before sanding like trimmer says, but they are randomly loose all over and it could end up a domino effect and open a can of worms that WOULD be my fault then!
Anybody got a spare million they dont want so i can retire!!

    Thanks for your replies lads

If they aren't loose enough to lift then leave them, I've pulled a couple out before thinking that that's all they were.. then they all started.
I've also had the odd one pop up as i'm sanding, i've just pushed them back down again without taking them up. The seal will keep them in place once finished..
All that said YOU NEVER KNOW...
    GOOD LUCK...
