How many of you have come accross upvc doors that are too low to get the carpet etc under? I have always got around by fitting a thin barrier matting but i have a customer that wont accept this. Does anyone know what the regs are regarding how low the doors should be installed?
Dont know the regs, but i do know they are a pain in the ass. some youd struggle to get cord underneath.
Some of them can be lifted by the hinges, its just finding some1 that knows how to. Even most the door fitters dont know
Its always flooring that gets the end of the hammer,we should be classed as multitraders "master of all".
IMHO in such a way rain swept up to the door cannot get underneath it - but we've seen plenty of doors where this is absolutely not the case. Try having to fit a floor where the upvc door is too low. In a hallway you can always leave an "entrance mat well" - but in other areas!!! Another door type that comes with its own problems: fire doors where a metal plate is part of the internal construction.
I know how to adjust them. it is simple, but this door i have come to is already fully adjusted P.s some of the older upvc stuff cant be adjusted
I have come across this problem several times, if the door can,t be adjusted i don,t know what the answer is
i went into a record shop the other day and said to the bloke "have you anything by the doors" he said "cctv and an alarm" so clear off
