Seal between Karndean and skirting board

    There is a mystery seal between my Karndean flooring and the skirting board. I am repainting all the woodwork and would like to fill in the gaps in the seal, especially in the bathroom, but I don't know what the seal is.

    Karndean tell me they don't recommend using anything like this, so I am confused. Could it just be glue?

    All ideas welcome.

    Could be where the fitting filled it with silicon flush with the skirts but has now shrunk

    Use a flat head screwdriver to see of its soft or not
