Did a measure this morning for carpets upstairs in a 2 bed new build, pretty small and total width of the upstairs from bedroom wall to the opposite landing wall is 4.98....anyways this woman has asked if I could possibly rid any threshold strips and do it as one piece ... I've told her I can heatseam in the doorways but wouldn't attempt it in 1 piece no way. Anyone done this before? I have no idea why she's so against threshold strips and I've offered her some nicer Premier trims but she don't want any. I'm not keen so might just give it a swerve. ....then downstairs she wants amtico Xtra in dry cedar in herringbone ffs. 1.20m planks
In a lot of countries, it's normal to seam doorways, maybe she's lived abroad, I've done it a couple of times, i imagine a koolglide would be ideal for that kind of thing. I did a full house in 120 long herringbone at the end of last year, the landings were a bit awkward, but the rooms flew down
My old guvnor use to do that to us all the time. If he could get it done in the width he would. He even had us do a square gallery landing without putting a join in it. Just templated off the old carpet and pulled it over the 4 corners Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’ve fitted a small lounge into a hallway then into a dining room in one. The lounge and hall where one piece then I seamed the dining room door way. Was a pain in the arse but it’s more than doable
Reminds me of a place I measured about 12 years ago. Long landing with a master bed on the end and 4 bedrooms on the sides. Think it was something like 13m long and just under 5m and he wanted it all in one piece…. Never did find out what happened with it but he didn’t use me.
