    morning

I’ve a few areas in my own house upstairs that’s I’d like a thin skim of smoothing compound, approx 2sqm total, at max 3mm thick, prior to carpet being fitted.

It’s a 1930s house with good clean well fastened pine T&G boards.
I’d normally use balls 700 or similar on my own jobs, under a new wood floor, I supply and fit wood floors - www.brierleymills.co.uk ,however, I’ve a unit of NA and no 700 (the carpet is being fitted this week, I’d like to get it done today) do you think the NA will suffice, or shall I just hold off and get a unit of fibre reinforced and doing it in an evening??

If your putting carpet over it then give it a shot. Are you filling your t+g first so it doesn’t run down the joins

Yes, I’ve previously filled any wide gaps with a flexible adhesive
