Hi again guys. Trainee floor fitter here
Your thoughts on silicone on lvt (karndean/amtico)
As a rule the normal guy I work with wouldn't dare to use silicone not nowhere exept round a pan/sink.
Another shop that have asked me to do some jobs for them have said to 100%percent use silicone because if Joe blogs allways uses a wet mop to wash it could cause water damage and for the tile edges could fold up this is for any type woodplank tiles etc. Your thoughts personally I think it hides bad work? But I want to know ( domestic ) many thanks.

I'd say no to silicone in most places.
Places I would though is bathrooms if cutting to ceramic tiles. Use a thin based of clear. Around toilets and sinks.

Have done a few times around old skirts with have not been painted. Thin bead of white. Mainly as it's hard to get perfect cut.

As daz says wet areas only really, cheapens the look of it if you seal the whole lot up regardless makes it look like a sheet vinyl

Wood plank looks absolutely awful with any silicone but I think silicone on tiles look fine in bathrooms or kitchens.

I found silicon works well, but only with tile flooring
