    Hi fellow fitters,

I screeded a floor and because the skirtings were too high I needed to put a lot more screed down than normal in order to try and get it closer to the bottom of the skirting. For this reason I could not use a roller as it was just pushing the screed around in a wave motion. So now that the Karndean has been laid you can see imperfections through the Karndean esp when the light shines on it like lumps and bumps and trowel lines etc. The screed was FBall 300HD and the Karndean was Knight Tile. Does anyone have any tips on the best way to try to make this better other than re screeding it as its mainly only a 4 sqm part of a 25 sq meter lounge. I have attached a picture which may show you what I mean but its hard to see as it doesn't show up very well.

    Thanks, Matt

Take the tiles out of that section, get rid of the glue with a scraper and rubdown the ridge. Bit of feather finish. Not that I've ever had to do it :)

How thick did you put the screed down in one go?

Ive had similar where ive had to build up to 20/25mm but did it in 2 coats.
You would have been better using a large spiked roller (deeper spikes which allow you to go through thicker screeds without pushing the screed)

Did you use a machine to rub it down?

If it was me id have to take the section up and try to make good but sometimes that can cause you more grief playing with the level again.

Cant you section it off to the wall and redo that section rather than 'fill an island'?
...or you could try taking that section up and try levelling it out with some fast set (A45 or similar)

You've got to make sure the subfloor is spot on with cheap crap tiles like knightly/colonia as it is such a soft product it hugs the floor ridiculously tight, agree with merit as to how to rectify the situation, I wouldn't use a45 though feather is better, a45 is only for holes and rebuilding nosings imho.

Do you not check your floors for defects before you lay anything ?

A heavy coat 300 goes down smooth as fuck without a spikey unless it's particularly hot

Rub down and feather a drk floor will show it more but 300 you shouldn't need a spikey.
