wondered how much work your websites generate for you all? at the minute i get hits to mine but no flippin calls and works really slow at the minute.ive even tried emailing builders, shop fitters etc for contract work but get no reply
I've got 3 websites that i designed myself, one was free but now expired, the other 2 are current, get loads of hits and had little sales on them. But then they were only to be put on my cards so that customers can view the possibilities..... My van is sign written aswell and get nothing from that either. I don't advertise at all
I find emailing company's doesn't work how many emails do you get offering this and that and how many so you actually call its te same for builders etc what worked for me was email they read your name then send letter with business card they read your name again then call in week or so later or phone when you mention your name they will prob remember from before doesn't always work buy the more someone reads your name the more likely they will remember it
most of my work comes from my website and im setting up a seperate company this year but just ecommerce also have my van signwritten which ive had a few jobs off.trouble i have is the main company i contracted to went in to liquidation last year so trying to get more leads really.
ive found out that aswell. didnt thinkabout following up with letters as i dont do anything on paper anymore will have to give that a go.
Do you drop into conversation what you do when you are out and about, surprising how much interest that generate....
I get very little work from my site. I have had a few job`s, but not much. I find generally, you need an 'in' to get much contract work. If you can get the inside info it put`s you ahead of the game. I know lot`s of surveyors, but the prices that are so low, I don`t even bother to send back the tender. It`s ridiculous that I can earn more working for another company, than I can for myself.
Get yourself on as many online free directorys as possible just spent a whole week updating and posting loads of listings and its already paid off google willfind you easier and you get loads more hits to your site.ive already tripled my hits .had at least 10 calls this week alone off internet and secured a great contract with a property managment co .
i know mate its trying to get in there though i do a bit for shop fitters but not enough really.the company i subbed to done partitions and had a few jobs off them a month its getting in there with someone or a few that can provide that amount of work again
hello mate im on all of them have been for a few years even have google places twitter and facebook setup but doesnt seem to improve things.
Think I'll stick to the fluffy stuff!!!! Keep meaning to get around to sorting out a website, but haven't yet, most of my work comes from repeat, or rec's, s, run a small ad in a local free mag that gets me a bit,(cost £30plus per week) yellow pages gets me next to nothing, and I won't go in again next year. Walking my dog and chatting to peop's gets me more than YP!!
Whats you online 'presence' like mate? SEO is prob 'the' single most important thing when advertising online No point having loads of sites etc if anyone doing a search cant find you, or worse If you end up on page 2 of the results! lol Do a random search for your area and see where you come in the results obviously if your one page 1 then its the market/economy in your area, but if your not on the 1st page then def have someone look into it for you Improve your reach!
Maybee updating all your listings willhelp aleo it could be your area maybee affluent area works by wiord of mouth more or local adverts . Need to do research
If you check calls you may be surprised to see how much work comes in from where. I waS i though yell.com etc was waste of tims but it wasbt.
i had yell.com paid advertising a few years ago and it seemed to work well now just have the free listing.
yes mate seo is spot on hit page 1 for most searches in pos 1 or 2.i get loads of hits to it just no calls.
hi mate i updated a few of them in november.and i dont ask where people got my number from i did find that i wasnt on yellow pages so relisted myself there and i get a few hits from it.
Been with Yell. com for years, 90% of calls I got from it were trying to get me to buy more advertising, and any quotes you were generally quoting against 5/6 other firms for a £100 order, not going to bother this year.
